Spring is probably the most beautiful time of year but for some people it means lot of headaches. Spring bring a lot of allergies that can trigger sinus. That can bring a painful pressure to your face, eyes and you will probably use some antibiotics to stop that.
But the best thing is to try to avoid them except in case if you have some bacterial infection. Some studies have shown that people given antibiotic and placebo for period of 10 days both groups have recovered at same time. So that leaves the questions is better choice to use natural remedies to fight sinuses. Here’s what you can try:
1. Use some herb
You can try using angelica, mint, and chrysanthemum and magnolia flower. Although theirs effectives in not scientifically confirmed people all around the world have been using them for hundreds of years before antibiotics wore invented.
2. Use spices
When spicy food hits your mouth and nose you know that everything opens up. Some studies show that hot peppers can help you clear sinuses but also there are testaments of people that say mustard, curry and wasabi help those clear sinuses.
3. Start steaming
By steaming you moistening the sinuses and loosening the muck that is stuck there. So next time when you go to shower sprinkle few drops of menthol or eucalyptus and steam the bathroom. You should feel immediate relief.
4. Hydrate
The number one rule is to stay hydrate so drink a lot of fluids. Hydration helps the body to dilute mucous secretions and promote drainage. But you need to avoid drinks that contain alcohol because they can make you dehydrating. Also alcohol can make situation worse by swelling of the lining of the sinuses and nose.
5. Warm compresses.
“You can use a warm compress to help keep the nasal tissues moist," Dr. Rizk says. "Or, fill a deep bowl or pot with steaming water and place your face over it with a towel around your head to breathe the steam in.” Just be careful not to burn yourself. You can also follow up the warm compress with a cold compress, which may help relieve sinus pain.
