Triglycerides are a type of fat (lipid) found in your blood. They are stored in your fat cells. Too much of this type of fat may raise the risk of heart disease.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TRIGLYCERIDES AND CHOLESTEROL?

Triglycerides and cholesterol are separate types of lipids that circulate in your blood. Triglycerides store unused calories and provide your body with energy, and cholesterol is used to build cells and certain hormones.

If you have high triglycerides, you can reduce your level with lifestyle changes, a proper diet and some simple home remedies. At the same time, you must continue to take any medicines as prescribed by your doctor.

HOME REMEDIES TO REDUCE TRIGLYCERIDES, BAD CHOLESTEROL AND HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

CORIANDER

Coriander has been documented as a traditional treatment for cholesterol, high blood pressure and triglycerides.

According to a 2008 study published in the Journal of Environmental Biology, there was a significant decrease in triglyceride and cholesterol levels in animals fed coriander seeds.

Ingredients:

  • 1 – 2 teaspoons of coriander seed powder
  • 1 cup of water

1.  Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of coriander seed powder to a cup of water.
2. Boil the water, strain it and allow it to cool.
3. Drink this solution once or twice daily for a few months.

Some of the acids present in coriander, like linoleic acid and oleic acid, are very effective inreducing the level of bad cholesterol (LDL) deposition along the inner walls of the arteries and veins.

Consuming coriander has been shown to positively reduce blood pressure in many patients suffering from hypertension.

GARLIC

A 2006 study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that including garlic in your diet can help lower blood glucose, cholesterol, and triglycerides.

Eat 2 to 3 raw garlic cloves on an empty stomach every day for a few months. Alternatively, take garlic supplements after consulting your doctor.

CAYENNE PEPPER

Cayenne pepper also helps lower triglycerides naturally. It contains a compound, capsaicin, which helps reduce triglycerides and LDL cholesterol in obese individuals.

Add ½ to 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to a cup of hot water. Drink it twice daily for a few weeks.

Important: Consult your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment of this condition. Use home remedies just as an adjunct treatment.
