Since decades scientists have been studying the adverse effects of pollution and global warming and needless to say if the same situation continues, earth’s end is near.
And this time NASA the US space agency has sufficient proof to support the thought. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that NASA could well predict if Earth’s end is near simply by means of analysing the data recorded over the years on the innumerable environmental changes to the planet. The latest as NASA’s proof of what could happen in the coming centuries is a video depicting the vast impact on polar ice caps as a result of global warming.
You most probably have heard this already how the polar ice caps are melting. The recent unnatural floods in parts of the world and various American cities are testimony to such an occurrence.
As the temperature shifts through seasons every year, the Arctic ice reaches its maximum and minimum. The white portion visible in the picture is the perennial ice. It’s the thickest ice that can last up to 4, or even 9 years or more without melting in warmer summer months.
The image shows the Arctic on September 10, 2016, when the sea ice extent was at 4.14 million square kilometers. According to NASA one of the global climate models predict that the Artic would be ice-free by mid-century.
The polar sea ice has a direct influence on ocean circulation, weather and regional climate across the globe. Vanishing sea ice is an easy indicator that climate change is taking place. If his holds true, its going to have major effects on countries like United States and many others.
