Here is what the latest evidence reveals about one of the most famous ships in the world. Were we living in a lie? You will be shocked!
Almost all people are familiar with the tragedy that happened on the Titanic. It was a passenger ship that travelled from United Kingdom to New York. In that time it was the largest such ship in the world.
When Titanic set sail in 1912, people expected that it would be a smooth and nice journey. After it had stopped at several harbors, Titanic set sail for New York. On 14th April it hit an iceberg which was 600 meters away from the Canadian coast.
The ship was filling with water and people overfilled the lifeboats in order to save their lives. The crew and the passengers were not actually prepared for such dangerous situation.
The situation soon became chaotic and tense. Due to the protocol that “women and children should be rescued first” many other people were left on the ship to sink and die.
Until this moment, the historians did believe this story. However, one expert claims that the iceberg was not the actual reason for the sinking of Titanic.
As reported by “New York Times”, Senan Molony, who is an Irish journalist that has spent more than thirty years investigating this ship, claims that the real reason for the tragedy was a fire which had occurred long before Titanic hit the iceberg.
Molony claims that the recent evidence suggests that there was a fire that occurred in the ship hull. Namely, the fire had been burning for almost 3 weeks before the terrible accident happened.
According to Molony, the fire broke out near the ship’s boiler room. It destroyed its hull and made an irreparable damage, which consequently resulted in hitting the iceberg.
At that point of time, Titanic did not have any structural integrity to endure the hit. According to Molony, people did know about the fire but they decided to ignore it.
In the recent documentary “Titanic: New evidence”, Molony has said that it was a perfect storm of weird factors which occurred at the same time: the fire, the iceberg and crew’s negligence. They did know about the fire, but they simply ignored it. Titanic should not have sailed, concluded Molony.
