A baby born on September 25 in Bangladesh is capturing international attention with his looks. The baby has a rare condition called progeria that affects only one in four million people. It causes one’s body to age must faster than normal, reports the Daily Mail.

The baby was born with an unusually hair back and the looks of an 80 year old man. The doctor treating the baby explains ‘The baby does not look like a newborn at all.’ He adds ‘There are prominent signs of aging such as excessive wrinkles and rough skin texture.’

While the world is shocked by the baby’s unusual appearance, the parent’s couldn’t care less. The baby’s dad Biswajit Patro, a farmer says ‘We can only thank God. There is no need to be unhappy about the appearance of my son. We will accept him the way he is.’

The father is proud of how his son looks, according to India Today. He says ‘Our first child, Aparna, has taken after her mother. But my boy looks like me, and I am happy.’

What is even more remarkable is that the parents are choosing to maintain a positive outlook despite the fact that children with progeria often do not live past the age of 13.

Biswajit says ‘We are so happy to have a baby boy in the house. We are already blessed to have a daughter. Now we are a family of four. What else can we ask for.’

Still, even if the baby lives a long life, it's difficult for many children with the condition to live normally. But this baby will be loved regardless.
