Apples are the perfect first fruits, because they contain a small amount of citric acid, which can cause an allergic reaction in infants.
One of the most important nutritional components in apples are two types of fiber – soluble (pectin) and insoluble which normalize intestinal function by preventing constipation and diarrhea.
Apples are easy to prepare for baby food, they are also easy to digest and most important they are full of nutrients.
They contain iron and phosphorus from minerals, and they are good source of vitamin A and vitamin C.
They help eliminating cholesterol from the body.
Apples can be well combined with other foods: bananas and other fruits, carrots, pumpkin, yogurt, chicken. Even if they are baked or cooked they will keep most of the nutrients.
